Player: Sammie0014
Cannon or your own: My own character.
Civilian Identity: Her birth name was Penelopy Wate but she now goes by the name Luna Lynx.
Nicknames: Lu, Ankle-biter, Amber, Mutt, Were, Lynx.
Gender: Female.
Apparent age: People often say that she looks 17, though this could be because she is a Lynx, so her aging process has slowed down dramatically.
Age: 20 years old.
Hair: Luna’s hair is light copper hair with lighter streaks of red/brown, although the streaks are mostly noticeable when she is in her Lynx form. She likes to keep it shoulder length and clean. She brushes it as often as she can and whenever it needs a trim she does it herself because she could never trust someone else to cut it the way she likes.
Eyes: Her eyes are amber, but depending on her mood they can appear slightly more: beige (when she’s in her Lynx form), olive (when she’s happy/excited) or chocolate (When she’s angry/annoyed). They basically change colour based on her mood and the form she is in.
Height and weight: 168lbs. This is mostly muscle due to the amount of exercise she does. Her height is 5’9.
Appearance:
Human:
In human form, Lynx is tall for her age. Her hair is a light copper with streaks of a reddish/brown colour through it, although the streaks aren’t that noticeable in her human form. Her hair just reaches her shoulders and she likes to keep it looking neat and clean. Her eyes are amber, but can appear more olive when she’s happy/excited or a more chocolate colour when she is angry/annoyed – they change with her mood, which is often erratic at best.
Her skin is marked with russet marks, shaped like stars, which started to appear after she had changed into her Lynx form for the first time. She also has a few scars from various fights she’d been in both forms. The worst being three across her back from when she was attacked and clawed one night by a Lynx (The reason she now turns into a Lynx).
Her skin is tanned due to all the time she spends outside, and she looks like a wild angel; her light hair and eyes give the impression that she is angelic, but the animal inside her grows more dominant every day, though it can never replace her humanity.
Her eyes are slightly bigger than normal and round. She has a small button nose and full lips. Her ears are slightly pointed and cat-like and her teeth are sharper than an average human. Her angelic appearance is usually complimented by simple sundresses, which she both steals and makes herself. She often losses her clothes when she shifts forms, but if she can retain the scraps of her clothes when she turns back she can easily sew it back together; her mother taught her how.
Lynx:
Luna’s Lynx form isn’t that big due to her age. She’s 1.3 metres in length and stands at a metre in height, although she will continue to grow at least until she is 30, and could continue growing until she is 35. Any growth past that age is rare.
In Luna’s Werecat form she has a short tail, tufted ears and a ruff of fur beneath her chin. She has distinctive leopard-like spots, although most of her spots resemble the shape of stars, while other looks more circular.
Her coat is a light copper colour, while her markings are a darker reddish/brown colour. She has big, round eyes which appear to be amber in her animal form, although can often take on an olive hue when she’s hunting or if she’s angry about something. She has a small nose, coloured a dark pink colour and ringed with a darker black colour. She also has whiskers and 28 razor sharp teeth.
Abilities:
Natural:
Luna is a great singer and has been able to belt out amazing tunes since she learned to speak. She also always had a natural ability in sport, and often excelled in any sport activity she tried (Besides the unfortunate incident which occurred during a swimming race).
Lynx:
Luna has retractable claws in both her cat and human form, though she cannot will them away completely in either form due to her young age. She also has silent step which means she can move without sound. Luna has feline grace which allows her to be swift and heightens her reflexes so they are faster than others. She also has amazing balance which is good due to her love of climbing trees. She also has night sight which is helpful when she wants to hunt during the night. Though this makes her eyes sensitive to bright light which means Luna often lurks in the shadows or wears dark-tinted sunglasses.
As she grows and ages she will be able to obtain abilities which only the Elders have.
Learned:
Due to the fact that her father was a boxer Luna was taught self-defence from a very young age and as she grew older she was taught how to fight and inflict damage on other people though her parents trusted her to only do this when it was absolutely necessary. She was always pretty good and still practices fighting.
She’s been taught:
-Unarmed combat
-Self-defence
-knife fighting
-Martial Arts
-Kick-boxing
-Wrestling
Luna also obtained her drivers permit before she became a Werecat, though she no longer needs a car when she is mostly in the forest and also due to the fact that she has her Lynx form.
Equipment:
Lynx carries small knives with her while in human form, including throwing knives. Though she hasn’t resorted to using them on anyone…yet.
Origins of Abilities:
Luna was attacked one night by what she could only describe as “a giant cat”. It clawed her back, leaving three long scars behind and it also bit her. Unknown to Luna she had been infected with the Therianthropy disease. She was attacked when she was fifteen, but didn’t begin to see any symptoms until six months later when she began developing flu-like symptoms, an increase in aggression, insomnia and in the final stages she began feeling paranoia, anxiety and depression and also mild hallucinations.
One night she fled to the woods behind her house in search of some peace and quiet, and the shift had come. It had been swift and painful. She felt disorientated and confused when it was complete. But a man had suddenly appeared and spoke to her Were form. He had told her what she was and helped her to understand how to change when she wanted to. “It just requires practice” he had said. He had been the Werecat who bit her.
He spent three days with her, teaching her about what she had become. When she woke on the fourth day, he was gone. She never saw him again, though she knew how to survive on her own because of his help.
Weaknesses:
Due to her sensitive eyes Luna can’t stand bright light and this often means that she avoids sunlight, especially on days where there isn’t a cloud in the sky. She often stays in the shadows throughout the day, and only comes out in the sunlight during sunset when the light is less intense.
She also hates water, due to an incident during a swimming race where she had almost drowned in a pool which had been a lot deeper than expected. Her phobia had increased when she became a Werecat and she could only ever go in very shallow water, though she could swim if it was absolutely necessary.
Luna’s front right leg is also weaker (In Lynx form. In human form her right wrist is weaker), and is prone to being damaged more easily due to a few fights she’d had since becoming a Werecat. This makes her front right leg a big weakness for her during fights, and it often takes a little longer to heal then her other limbs.
Personality:
Luna has an unpredictable, volatile temper and can often be known to start fights over little things. She is also stubborn, so she would never back down from a fight unless she was severely outmatched or if she knew that she could not win. She is also extremely loyal to those she cares about and would fight to the death if it meant keeping them safe and alive. Though since leaving her family there is no one she is close to anymore.
Due to her isolation from other people there is a deep sense of loneliness about her and she longs to make friends. She’s cynical and sarcastic and hides behind jokes as a form of protection. She does not trust easily for fear of rejection and fear of not being good enough for other people and often fakes confidence and happiness when she does interact with people, though she is really just insecure and wants nothing more than the love friendship can provide.
Background:
During a blazing hot summer day in the rural suburbs of Sydney, Australia, Penelopy Wate (later to be known as Luna Lynx) was born. Her family consisted of her mother, Cynthia Wate; her father, Alexander Wate and twin older brothers Sebastian (Seba) and Jonathan (Jona) Wate.
They lived in a small farmhouse in a country town called Nowra which only had a small population. She attened the local school; Nowra High school. She received a basic education and had very few friends. Her family was extremely close with most of her family though so she never felt alone. She had an unbreakable bond with both her brothers, and her mother taught her how to sew and cook whenever they had spare time.
Alexander, her father, was not a very tolerant man so the children were always getting in trouble, including little Penelopy. Although he never physically abused her he often hit Seba and Jona. One time when they had been particularly bad, and had accidentally spilt oil all over his prized car, he punished them by locking them under the house which has a small wooden door which had a small lock on it. He left them there for hours and when he finally let them out he further punished them by snapping their pet bird’s neck. The children had been devastated and never went near his car ever again.
Before Penelopy got the chance to escape her small town and attend University she shifted for the first time. After spending three days with the man who had infected her she had decided to go to Timbre Ridge, a place he had mention where a lot of supernatural creatures went. When she reached Timbre Ridge and ran into someone, they asked her name. She was no longer Penelopy Wate. She remembered the man who infected her had called her a Lynx and a child of the Luna, so she called herself Luna Lynx.
Base of Operations: Timbre Ridge.
Criminal Record: No criminal record…so far.
Sample Post: The silence of the forest was disturbed only by the sound of footsteps. To any other animal the sound of footfall would be silent, but to the Werecat stalking through the forest they seemed to echoed loudly in her oversensitive ears, like drum beats.
The Lynx’s coat blended with her surroundings, each coloured with reds and browns, though her colouring appeared to be brighter than the dying leaves which surrounded her. Her paws gently caressed the ground as she moved silently through the forest, feeling the soft dirt below her feet. She always felt free as she ran through the trees. She felt strong.
