Writers’ Island is a writing group designed to help you improve your writing, whilst meeting other like-minded people. We aim to set up writing retreats, where we cater to a variety of genres, and you will learn from top quality university-level tutors and published authors in a relaxed atmosphere.
There are five core courses available: Fantasy Writing, Fiction Workshop, You Are Full of Stories, Poetry for Children, and Comedy Voice. These can be supplemented, free of charge, by a number of optional afternoon workshops, ranging from Mythology to Song-writing. Alternatively, afternoons can be used to go on trips to local places of interest or for general relaxation.
We are planning several retreats in the future, and we'll get the details of the latest ones up as soon as possible, so keep checking back!
We have a blog over on Wordpress, and we're accepting submissions. So if you have an idea for an article, or a short story or piece of poetry, send it over. We ask that your piece be around 500-1000 words, but that's pretty much the only limitation. We're also on Twitter, so give us a tweet and we'll tweet you back.[/font][/size]
