Everyday Magic is, as the banner states, An Everyroleplay Hub! We're a Nexus, a Panfandom Site, a Meeting of Worlds, take your pick of vocabulary! It's exactly as it sounds! We support every roleplay imaginable here on Everyday Magic, and then some! We do mostly Literate/Para Level Roleplay here, with some exceptions for our Freeform area, and we accept all kinds of characters!
Speaking of such, there are two roleplaying sections to our site, which you should get to know:
The Nexus
The first section of our site is The Nexus. A Nexus is a place where dimensions cross, and all sorts of places, species, and times intermingle. Our particular Nexus is set in the 1930's South Dakota town of Timbre Ridge. It's the Prohibition Era for the natives of this dimension, and alcohol is prohibited, and tension is high. Though Timbre Ridge seems to have avoided the unwanted attention of the authorities that other cities are enjoying thusfar, most of the locals within the town are rather old fashioned and seem to support the new law. Of course, that fact doesn't seem to stop Timbre Ridge from being home to a bustling Speakeasy, not to mention an undercurrent of... stranger things.
Unknown to the poor townsfolk of Timbre Ridge is not only the Speakeasy, but a bustling and thriving Preternatural world. Werebeasts, magic, portals to other times and places, and the Speakeasy itself is run by a very old warren of vampires with some major control issues. This isn't even touching on the various and strange beings who find themselves stranded in Timbre Ridge by the magic of the Rift. Those who find themselves stranded have the possibility of getting home again, but it's a complicated process that may take months, or even years! Meanwhile, they'll just have to get used to the strange company they've found themselves in...
You can play any character within reason within The Nexus, literally! Be it an Original Character, or a Cannon, from Harley Quinn to Scooby Doo, from Sherlock Homles to My Little Pony, the Rift isn't picky who it displaces. Of course, some individuals may find that they haven't come through the Rift the same way they went in. After all, such strange and powerful magics have a way of changing people.
The Nexus is Semi-Literate, which means, here in particular, that while we expect you to be able to keep things grammatically clean and to use spell check, we don't have a huge posting minimum. For our Nexus section, we ask that each post is at least a paragraph long, or five sentences if you need a more specific count. Again, if you're not familiar with these terms, please refer to our glossary.
While we allow characters of every type, overly cartoony characters such as characters from My Little Pony or Scooby Doo may be modified to fit in. An example of this might by a My Little Pony character coming out of the Rift as a Werepony rather than their less realistic selves. Powers and abilities that aren't realistic may be modified as well. So while we'll allow just about any cannon, be prepared to change some things if that's what needs to be done.
Freeplay
The last section of our site is know as Freeplay! This section is anything goes, as long, of course, as things are kept PG-13. We're still hosted by proboards after all! We're quite serious about anything too. If you want to roleplay crayons, go ahead, we won't judge you! We may, however, suggest heavy medication and a trip to the shrink, however.
Freeplay roleplays are decided by the thread makers. In other words, you! If you make the thread, you decide what the roleplay is about, the rules, the setting, and anything else you'd like to include! However, that also means that you're in charge of making sure people follow those rules, as well as the general rules of the site.

Start by registering with us, of course, and setting up your account. Then make sure you've read our site rules! These rules apply to the whole site, no matter what section of it you're in, so memorize them if you have to! Thankfully, they're mostly common sense.
When you're done with that, it's all a matter of deciding what you want to do first! If you're going for The Nexus, then there are a few links that will be useful:
If you're applying for a character for the Nexus and it's not one of the Needed/Special Characters, post your character here to await approval.
If you're going for Freeplay, then make sure you've read the general site rules and then just hop on in! You don't have to wait for any character approvals or read any species lists or world info unless you're joining someone else's thread! If you make you're own, you make everything up! For a little more fun, we also have both a Chat-box and a Music player, located in the boxes on the left side of the site. Mind your manners though, all site rules still apply to the C-box!
