Ghosts of Characters Past

So, I was just thinking to myself that my character Krepta has had a LOT of different incarnations. Maxxie is new, but Krepta--- she's been with me since I first started roleplaying, and that was a looooong time ago.

I was wondering here how many other people here have older characters, and where else/who else they've been. What weird jobs have your characters held? Have they been anything else but what they are now? If so, let's hear their war stories! We all know being a muse isn't easy. XD

Lesse... Krepta has beeeeeen...

She started out in the X-men universe as a mutant, where she could turn into a dragon, a wolf, and a bear. I later scratched the bear in favor for a cat. I can't remember why. The bear thing was fairly short lived though.

She later went on to be her superheroy self in the DC Universe, though there were some crossovers as well. Most of the juicy details are already in her character bio. She's duked it out with Wolverine though, worked along side Hellboy, and even had a throwdown with Lobo once ( HHM WHO WOULD THAT BE? )

I had one roleplay where she went a little nutters and became a Red Lantern ( Green Lantern Series ). I wish that one had gone further. It would have been an interesting aspect of her to explore, as it was one of the few incarnations of her that was a bad guy.

She's also been a star pilot/smuggler in a Star Wars the Old Republic Roleplay where she goes under the name K'areen Walker. Yes, I know, I'm creative. In fact, Karen Walker is one of her more normal names where I'm in a situation that I can't use Krepta. Karen's be an errand girl for a crazy vampire or two as well.

Karen/Krepta had probably had a BUNCH of other incarnations that I can't remember right now, but those are the interesting/weird ones I have off the top of my head. XD

Right now I don't think any of the characters I play have any alternate histories. Except Conner. He was a bartender in another forum. He was still a vampire though. That's kinda his thing.

Durban, poor soul, has a very shady past.

I first used Alec as a bit of a foil character in a HP universe RP. The existing wizard psychologist on that board was a very forgiving soul and liked to follow the rules, so along came my dark side shrink who had no qualms with manipulating everyone and had some bad history with the good guy. It was fun for me to try to walk the line with a morally ambiguous character while trying to keep him actually likeable and always possibly redeemable. He was meant to be the kind of guy you'd want on your side, but would not want your son or daughter to date.

He was re-engineered a little bit for an Anita Blake spin off RP. He became a newly turned werewolf with a military background where he specialized in advising on the most effective leverage to apply based upon a person's values and emotional ties. I couldn't bring myself to delete the dark side past for Alec. Agreements were abandoned in that RP, and my wolf was basically left to die.

When I took him to a new AB RP site, I left both the treachery and and evisceration in his back story. The twisted side of me liked having a character who was too stubborn to die easily, even when he needed to rely on a new nest of vipers to bring him back to health.

Since he's always been a dark horse, it will be interesting to play him in a leadership role. I expect his flaws to trip him up along the way.

Goodness! Poor Alec! XD It sounds like he's had it just about as rough as Krepta has! No wonder they get along so well! The Harry Potter thing amuses me though. I could not imagine him in a Harry Potter Universe.

I can't wait to see him handle his new position either, particularly seeing how he'll deal with any wolves that start to get uppity! He's such a nice guy, but I've got a feeling he's not gunna take crap either!

I can say with certainty that Connell is my very firstest RP forum/board character. But the character he's an Earth, 1930's- modified version of is one that I have used extensively in other venues, if those count =P

It counts. XD Krepta's been allll over; not just forums, though they ARE my favorite. Actually I think she started out way back when you could roleplay on Neopets without them freezing your account for every third post. The Starwars version of her I actually played on the game itself--- which is/was a new experience. I'm so paranoid when I don't have a spell-check at my disposal. XD

Tim Rex has a Lot of incarnations.

Tim, in one form or another has been played since.. Well high school. 1984. So he has a lot of history. He’s cast as the “bad guy”. Well, more like the guy we really hate, even if he saves our bacon, because he’s so damn smug about it. On his homeworld he help liberate his people from slaver, then seemed to turn right around and ruled them with an iron fist once his sister/tank mate Aurora apparently died (she has her own convoluted history and ain’t dead, or so he found out later). When he lost the ruling seat, he ran for it.

In this incarnation he’d been world hopping for a while, so has seen a few things.

He’s also played on several other DC and Marvel boards, seducing anything that seeped estrogen hormones and usually getting shot down, and sometimes shot at. Catwoman allowed his advances only because she wanted the teleportation cube he carried. Moxra spawn a demon mutant dragonspawn named Chance that was pitted against Raven‘s daddy. He had zipped into the future with 4 more kids (spawned by Killer Croc, but he’d been contaminated with Tim’s blood, and passed along to his kids by Dr Linda Friiatawa. Killer Croc and Linda has since then come over to my board) and that’s the last we’ve seen of him on the DC boards. He worked a few schemes, helped out a few teams, fathered a few kids and now spends most of his time rounding up the ones he can find less they get used and abused by scientist, military,,, pretty much anyone not family.

He was played heavily on my Del Marian board, reluctantly helping the natives on the planet, getting his soul sucked into a demon sword then transplanted into a little golem body before going mad and blasting off the planet with his Celestial girlfriend and his son’s stolen body. So he’s currently out of play there.

It’s only been the past few years that he’s evolved into this “sluttier” incarnation, but it seems to fall into his nature easily. I figure eventually he’ll reveal his true self, but not until he’s backed into a corner an has no other options open to him, and he’s was too slick to allow himself to be pinned that easily…

Unless of course if Krepta wants to pin him. He might like that. A lot.

XD Sounds like he's had an interesting past! Putting up with Tim must have been SO hard for Catwoman. I bet she developed some kind of tick after it was all over with.

Poor Krepta. She seems to attract these sorts. XD
