Introduction
Before you do anything else on this forum, make sure you'd read our rules! If you don't, and you do something that's against the rules, you will receive no pity because, well, that was stupid. So read them. Do it. Yes.
These are rules for the entire site. That means Out of Character, In Character, PMs, Chatbox, everywhere. No if, ands, or buts. The admins of this site have the right to deal with everything on a case by case basis, of course, and should we dub you are being disruptive to the happy fun times of the board in any manner not on this list, we have the right to execute you. Okay, maybe we'll just address the situation as politely and appropriately as we can and deal with things like adults, but it will be the most uncomfortable politeness you'll ever experience! Also, if you act like a jerk, the site will activate the Krepta-bots and you will die a horrible screaming death. : ) So play nice, ya'll.
There's no need to prove you read the rules. Just do it. We'll catch on if you haven't, trust me.
On General Behavior
+ Be nice to each other. It's really as simple as that. If you have a problem with someone, try to talk it out and reach a peaceful conclusion before you lose your tacos. If you can't find yourself coming to a peaceful conclusion, please, call on an admin to act as a mediator instead! If you can't do any of these things and bullies arise, they will be dealt with swiftly and severely. We don't like bullies here. Remember the golden rule!
+Keep ads where they belong. We don't mind if you advertise your own site, but your signature, the roleplay areas, and folk's PMs aren't the place to do so. We have an advertising section specifically for that, so keep them there. Any ads elsewhere will be deleted without warning, and if you spam folk's inbox's you will receive a warning.
+Please keep anything on the public area of the forum PG-13 friendly. Essentially this means light swearing is acceptable, but the heavier four letter words should be kept to a minimum. Romance can include heavy petting, but anything else should be fade to black. References to substance abuse should be limited. In other words, no porn, and try not to do anything that will really insult people or get our site taken down. Try to keep gore to a minimum too, please.
+A word on activity: If you're going to leave for a little while, please let us know, and try not to make it a vanishing act! Having to leave for a vacation or a sick grandma once and a while is understandable, and we don't expect you to dedicate your schedules to us, but if you're going to come in, make a character, have us look through and approve it, then vanish a month later forever, maybe you had better thing twice before taking on the responsibility of joining a community. Anyone who is without activity for four weeks without a leave of absence will have their characters deleted and their cannons freed up. Any roleplays that have been inactive for two weeks will be deleted as well, so please let us know that you're going somewhere and how long you'll be gone!
+Don't stretch our board with your signatures, avatars, pictures, ect! It isn't nice, and it's annoying, and we'll eat you.
+Face Claims are fun, but they aren't really required. If someone uses the same person as a face claim, you'll just have to live though. We don't have a claims section.
+Staff will get to approving character bios when they get to them, please don't harass the staff, they have sharp teeth and crazy eyes and they bite.
+Don't argue with staff. If you have a problem with something a staff member does, take it to Krepta and she'll sort it out. It's generally not good for your health to argue with Krepta, though, unless you have a very, very good reason. I can be plenty fair, but I won't tolerate nonsense because you aren't getting your way about something.
On Roleplaying
+Keep cannons cannon, for the love of god! >8[
+Write your own profiles, even for cannons. Para-phrasing information is fine, but don't copy and paste. We don't like, we'll know if you do it, and we'll bust you for it. Just be smart and don't do it in the first place and we won't have any trouble. Stealing is the same for images as well. If you don't own the image, then don't use it unless you have gotten express permission from the artist. Don't rip things off of DA and claim them as your characters. If the image happens to be a commission or you have gotten permission, credit the artist! Images for cannon characters like Batman or Harry Potter are fine.
+All roleplays besides Freeplay roleplays should be written in third person. Roleplay Rules in the Freeplay section will be decided by whoever makes the thread. Threadmakers, please make your rules an expectations clear, preferably in the first post or so.
+Posting orders aren't a must, but they're usually polite. While we won't require you all to keep track to a T, please try not to bully-post and prevent someone else from playing their turn. Generally you can tell the natural rhythm of a roleplay and just go with a flow, but if you notice someone's getting left out, please address this issue so that everyone can have fun!
+The Nexus is Semi-Literate, which means we're a little more easy going on grammar and spelling, but don't get lazy. No one liners are allowed here. There is a paragraph, or five sentence minimum on post length. Freeplay is up to the Thread Creators who write the rules for their individual roleplays, but thread creators can make up what ever rules they want. If you have any questions or need help bringing your roleplaying up to snuff, feel free to contact an admin. Also, we have both a spell-check and a dictionary button. Use them if you get confused.
+Godmoding, Powerplaying, and any other of these things will never be accepted in the Nexus, but Thread Creators in Freeplay, do what you like. If you don't know what any of these things are, ask an admin or a fellow player. Most people will be all too willing to give you a crash course in the dos and don'ts of roleplaying. If you are powerplaying, godmodding, or any of the like, you will be asked by an admin to go back and change your post until it stops being aggravating to the other players. If this becomes a repeat offense, you will have your roleplaying privileges revoked for a week suspension period, then forever.
+Follow the rules of the threads you're in! Thread creators in the Freeplay area make their own rules for their roleplays, so make sure you know them before you start. If you don't follow them, then who ever is running said roleplays has every right to ask you to leave. World information and other such things should be located in these places as well. Be sure to know the world you're playing in!
