Player Name: Themascura
Cannon or your own: Mine
Civilian Identity: Connor McCael
Codename: The Lover
Nicknames: Romeo
Gender: Male
Apparent age: Mid to early thirties
Age: 76
Hair: Red-Blonde
Eyes: Green
Height and weight: 5’9 190lbs
Appearance: An unfortunately stereotypical looking Irishman, Connor is tall and wiry, with laughing green eyes and red-blonde hair. He wears his hair long and pulled back into a ponytail. He prefers his pants fitted and his shirts loose, tucked into said pants. If he can get away with it, he likes the shirts to be open to at least below the chest. He has full lips (for a man, anyway) and just one dimple, giving his smile a lopsided quality.
Abilities: Extreme Speed and Dexterity, both inherited through his vampyric blood line, as well as the ability to speak to wolves and dogs. Otherwise, normal vampyric abilities (basic strength, ect.)
Equipment: A solid oak serving tray he likes to use for fights.
Origin of Abilities: He was turned.
Weaknesses: Anything smaller than him, as well as anything sad and/o pitiful. He is especially susceptible to the sun, as he is an Irish vampire and didn’t have the best resistance to sunlight when he was alive.
Personalty: Cheerful and flirtatious, his coworkers call him Romeo because he loves… well, everyone. His goal in life appears to be making others happy. He seems to be well aware of his reputation, however, and makes fun of himself quite often. He likes bright colors, and will dress as such, preferring yellows, green and reds to the dour grays and pinstripes popular during the nineteen thirties. He is fairly chivalrous, but has a mean right hook (like many other Dubliners) and tries to look out for anyone he thinks needs looking out for… which is, so far, everyone except Steele and the Two Bosses.
Background: Connor was born and raised in Dublin, the third of five sons. His parents owned a small farm, which produced enough food to keep them all well fed and clothed, though little else. Despite the excitement of the big city, Connor quickly grew restless and bored with his life. His two elder brothers had already married and were on their ways to making their own families by the time he turned eighteen, and he knew he didn’t want the same. He had heard many tales from sailors about the wonders of America, and decided to see them for himself.
He packed his belongings, joined up with a crew of sailors heading for America, said goodbye to his family and set off. In the days that followed, Connor learned two things. One, he had a tendency to get very, very sea sick, and two… he was useless on a boat. In all, if he hadn’t been so likeable, the other sailors might have tossed him into the ocean before he got to America. As it was, he just barely made it onto the dock in Boston before they sailed off again.
He quickly found life in America wasn’t quite as glamorous has he had been told. He quickly went through almost all of his money, and had resorted to selling off his possessions for money to eat, when he ran across a strange and charismatic man. The man offered to take Connor in and teach him the ways of America, all for a “small” fee. He informed Connor that all the Irishman needed to do to earn these favors was meet the man’s boss. If the boss approved of Connor, he was in. If he didn’t, Connor would be back on the streets.
What Connor had no way of knowing was that the man worked for a very powerful, very lazy vampire. The man who had ‘recruited’ Connor was, in fact, charged with finding the Vampire food. The vampire was fairly picky, and preferred food that at least looked good. Unfortunately for Connor, he fit the bill.
The man took Connor to meet the boss, who was quite pleased with Connor. So pleased that instead of just killing him for his blood, he turned Connor. Connor woke up a week later with no memory of being turned, but a small network of vampires to teach him the ropes. He stayed at first, learning how to be a vampire, but secretly plotted to run as soon as he was able.
As luck would have it, Connor didn’t need to run. One day, wandering along the Boston beach, Connor found a strange anomaly in the sand. It was a funny, almost swirl shape. When Connor approached to investigate, the swirl suddenly tripled in size, shooting past Connor’s feet. In short order, he found himself sinking. He sank before he had time to call for help, much less try to grab something.
Just when he was certain he was going to die, entombed with sand, he fell out the other side. He found himself in a shallow pond, covered in mud and sand, and with no idea where he was. Thankfully for him, he was quickly discovered by the denizens of the nearbye speakeasy known as the Dregs. They explained to him where- and more importantly, when- he was. He had somehow ended up in South Dakota, fifty years after when he had fallen into the quicksand.
With little reason to go elsewhere- his family would be dead or ancient by now, and being deeply catholic would not take kindly to his new state- he stayed on with the Dregs, becoming one of their many servers, known as the Lovers.
